Good morning, I would like to ask about public health majors, is it preferable to have a medical background?

In my experience, most students majoring in Public Health are interested in medical, research, or some other field of science . These people aspire to work for the major hospitals or health-related government institutions such as the CDC. A quick Google search on jobs for Public Health majors shows various positions available in Quality, Environmental Health, Hospitals, and government agencies. Nationwide I came up with more than 8,000 jobs open. If this is an area of interest for you, I would research your career options to see if they fit what you are looking for. Good luck!
