There are plenty of ways you can highlight your skills on a resume in place of work experience. Some ways you can do that are:
1. Highlighting relevant course work- what have you learned or what are the major takeaways in the class?
2. Highlighting relevant projects- what were the major accomplishments of the project? (include numbers if possible)
3. List any organization you are a part of and your position- What is your role within the organization and what are some ways you have impacted it?
Within those different points you should be able to pull out skills such as time management, team work, leadership, communication, dealing with ambiguity, etc. Hope this helps!
