What are some things that employers hate to see interviewees do during an interview?

There are a couple of things that really stand out to recruiters when conducting interviews. A few things to avoid would be looking at or being on your cell phone, chewing gum, not making eye contact, and not coming to the interview prepared. Make sure that you research the company and position before coming in for an interview; also be sure to prepare good questions for when the interview concludes.

The way you present yourself in person during an interview is just as important as the way you present yourself on a resume. During your interview make sure have good posture and to try not to fidget. This action will reflect calmness and confidence. It is also important to always make eye contact with your interviewer to show you are engaged in the conversation. I would also try to avoid chewing gum or mints during an interview. Finally, always ask questions! By asking questions you are showing the interviewer that you are genuinely interested in their company.

Not making eye contact and fidgeting are big ones. Come in with some confidence and a firm handshake and it goes alot further than no eye contact and playing with your hair.
