What is more important in a professional setting, your overall experience in the setting or your documented credentials like a degree or certification?

I think this very much depends on the type of organization you're going into. Here, we highly value expereince within the field rather than the credentials of a degree or certification. While in some situations a particular degree/certificate is required, but I would say that experiences typically plays a larger role that your degree.

Great question! Ultimately, it depends on the organization and the manager – some organizations place a large amount of value on the degree or certification. It also depends on the field you are in. Some jobs require a further degree or additional certifications. In my career thus far, more emphasis has always been placed on the experiences an individual has. Anyone can study hard enough for a test and become certified, but it is the experience of a candidate that makes them stand out
