Oh NO!!! I just noticed an error on a short email response to a hiring manager. The manager and I have a few close connections and we even used to work at the same company; however, we don't know one another very well personally. I was responding to his email asking to schedule a follow up interview for a manager role. I noticed the error in my response this morning, but I sent the email last night so he has probably already seen it. What should I do??

Relax! If you can't recall the email, it's okay. Just breathe. It looks like you write well, so I'm thinking that you have established a reputation as a good writer with him, as well. You can send a quick follow-up email apologizing for the error (just to let him know that you take pride in your presentation). You can apologize quickly for the error in conversation, also. Unless your job depends greatly on flawless writing, I would relax. :-)

As Eddie mentioned, don't stress! You can try and recall the message. If you are unable to do so, a quick apology during your next conversation would be suffice. Managers understand that people send emails from cell phones as well, so type-os can happen!

There are a few things you can choose to do. One, you can check your sent files, and open the email that you sent, then click options. There may be an option to delete and/or edit the email to be resent, but only if it was unread. Also, you can choose to do nothing, and hope that the manager isn't a stickler about grammar or whatever the error was. However, you could also send a follow up message correcting the error. It happens more than you think, and sometimes the managers or recruiters will send errors as well. In any case, I don't think this would be enough to cost you the job. Best of luck to you!
