Great question and one that comes up fairly often. Most companies like to see individuals find a passion and get involved in it. It is great to have a lot of interests, but it is even better to identify a couple of activities that you can really show your commitment to. Being able to demonstrate your ability to develop yourself by becoming a leader in an activity shows you are driven and focused. Particularly, if the activities are focused around your career interests, the experience can end up being very helpful in getting a job. Leadership in activities can show you can manage others as well as processes, which are important skills that an employer is looking for. Good luck to you, and just by the fact that you are asking this question, shows you are on the right path.
